Will – Margaret proves she’s a force to be reckoned with when, to her displeasure, Barbara makes strides in mending her relationship with Fred and Maggie. Elsewhere, Bellamy’s situation grows more precarious as he struggles to keep his secret from Maggie, all the while taking desperate measures to deal with a strange virus that is spreading amongst the returned.
Old Scars – Margaret convinces Lucille to host a dinner celebrating Jacob’s return, but the evening turns tense with the arrival of unexpected guests who end up putting a further strain on family relations. Meanwhile, Bellamy continues to research the history of the mysterious bones; and Rachael receives unsettling news about her baby.
Multiple – Bellamy confides in Tom, explaining that he’s one of the returned; at the same time, the pastor senses a need for a new parish specifically for those who have come back to Arcadia. Elsewhere, Margaret seems determined to keep hidden whatever connection the Langston family has to old human bones that have mysteriously turned up in the river.
Echoes – Bellamy and Sheriff Fred fear that Caleb may have returned to Arcadia when they hear reports that someone is living in his old hunting shack. At the same time, Bellamy struggles with the knowledge that he is one of the returned and has difficulty following the orders of his mysterious boss. Meanwhile, Janine tries to save her marriage to Pastor Tom by moving back home; and Margaret Langston is none too happy to learn what has become of the family business.
Revelation – Season 2 begins with Bellamy facing another shocking turn of events when he awakens alone and abandoned at Arcadia’s outskirts unable, at first, to account for a week of his life. As his memory returns, the town welcomes back from the dead powerful matriarch Margaret Langston after more than a 30-year absence.
Torn Apart – Physical and unnatural forces overcome Arcadia in the Season 1 finale, which finds the town in a state of chaos when the return of the deceased reaches a critical mass. Feeling like he’s out of options, Bellamy asks for outside help, but that backfires in a way no one could have imagined—even Sheriff Fred, who seems determined to pursue his own agenda.
Schemes of the Devil – Tom receives help from Bellamy and Fred in his search for Rachael, whose situation grows more dire as her captors become more desperate. Meanwhile, Maggie and Dr. Ward find themselves on the brink of promising breakthrough as they continue their research on the resurrected subjects, but everything must be put on hold to deal with a sudden epidemic.
Home – Bellamy disapproves when Maggie turns to an old friend, a doctor who now works for the National Institute of Health, for help solving Arcadia’s growing mystery. At the same time, Rachael’s secret falls into the wrong hands; and Pastor Tom has trouble convincing the town’s residents that the returned mean them no harm.
Insomnia – Bellamy is haunted by a tragic incident from his past as a cop. At the same time, he struggles to keep Jacob safe from outside forces, and receives a chilling warning from Caleb. Meanwhile, Elaine feels pressured into finding the stolen bank money before the FBI comes to town; and Maggie has some shocking news for Rachael.
Us Against the World – Bellamy and Sheriff Fred form an uneasy alliance to solve Dale’s murder, and to track down a suspicious Caleb after he goes on the run; when Jacob suffers a seizure, Maggie takes him to the clinic for a checkup and is shocked by her findings; Pastor Tom struggles to adjust to having his old love Rachael back in Arcadia.
